At Godinez Fundamental High School, we offer ALL students a rigorous, relevant, and coherent standards-based curriculum that supports the achievement of the academic standards, college and career-readiness standards, and school-wide learner outcomes. Also, we offer students the opportunity to earn college and high school credit simultaneously, through our dual enrollment early college program. This year, we received the prestigious designation of California Distinguished School from the State Superintendent's Office!

This year, 2026-27, we are committed to continuing to build on last year's successes. Here are just a few:

• 97 seniors, or 25% of the graduating class, earned a GPA of 4.0 or higher.
• 146 seniors, or 37% of the graduating class, earned a GPA between 3.00 and 3.99.
• Of the district’s top 100 graduating seniors, 24 were from Godinez.
• 130 seniors passed two or more college courses, and 100% of the Class of 2026 participated in Senior Interviews.
• A record number of students were reclassified as proficient in English.
• With only eight suspensions among 1,632 students, Godinez had the lowest suspension rate in the district.
• Football and Girls Flag Football qualified for the CIF Playoffs. Football made its first appearance since 2017, while Girls Flag Football made its first appearance in school history.
• Boys and Girls Basketball qualified for the CIF Playoffs. Boys Basketball finished with a 20–9 overall record, while Girls Basketball advanced to the CIF State Regional Finals.
• Boys and Girls Soccer qualified for the CIF Playoffs. Boys Soccer reached the Division 3 semifinals and advanced to the CIF State Regionals.
• Girls Cross Country won its second consecutive Orange Coast League championship, and Wrestling won back-to-back Boys League Championships in the Orange Coast League.
• Boys Volleyball qualified for the Division 7 CIF Playoffs and advanced to the second round.
• STUNT reached the Division 2 CIF Quarterfinals for the first time in school history, and a senior athlete earned Golden Empire League STUNT MVP honors.
• Godinez’s production of the musical In the Heights received the Childress Award, one of the highest ensemble honors presented at the Spirit of the MACY Awards, which included more than 60 schools.
• Four students competed at the National Speech & Debate Tournament, with one senior placing 13th in the nation.
